Federal Work Study - FWS Computer Lab Assistant

Phoenix College (PC), the first public junior college in Arizona, welcomed its first students on September 13, 1920. Monitor student activity in the open computer laboratory.

Assist students with technical difficulties that may arise in the computer laboratory.

Take daily inventory of computers available for checkout and ensure the return of all checked out computers.

The Peer mentor will serve as a peer-to-peer generalist and work with Dual Enrollment. Will provide the students with services and resources that they have available to help them be successful in their computer science/CIT courses. PLEASE NOTE: This is less than 5% of the job. They can either: a) Conducts one-on-one meetings with program participants individually, or in small/large groups; provides participants information regarding student support services and resources via phone calls or emails. b) Provide support to students in their coursework c) Refer students to tutoring d) Encourage to speak with professor e) Help with study tips and/or other success habits f) Help facilitate class discussions and engagement 8. Other duties as assigned.
