Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Support FEA projects using ANSYS Workbench Mechanical and DesignModeler or SpaceClaim according to customer requirements.
- Interface with customers, maintain regular project communication, and deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Review and validate inputs for assessing components and subsystems for stress, deformation, vibration, and durability.
- Perform linear and nonlinear stress, modal, and fatigue analysis at the assembly level.
- Perform first-principles calculations, sanity checks, and Excel-based calculations.
- Use reference reports, models, ANSYS models, and established processes from past projects.
- Resolve analysis-related issues and convergence problems.
- Interpret results and provide recommendations considering manufacturing, assembly, and cost.
- Prepare clear technical documentation and reports for different audiences.
- Execute projects independently with minimal supervision and pursue ongoing self-development.
Skills and Experience Required
- 3–4 years of experience in structural FEA.
- B.Tech, B.E., M.Tech, or M.E. in Mechanical Engineering or an allied branch.
- Hands-on experience with ANSYS Workbench Mechanical and DesignModeler, SpaceClaim, or Discovery.
- Experience preparing finite element models for large assemblies with many components.
- Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, dynamics, stress, fatigue, and bolted joint analysis.
- Ability to perform regular hand calculations and Excel-based calculations.
- Experience with loads, boundary conditions, static, modal, fatigue, and assembly-level analysis.
- Experience handling assemblies with at least 20–30 components, including connections and contacts.
- 3D modeling experience is required because most of the work involves 3D modeling.
- Modal scaling and 2D modeling experience are advantageous.
