About the Role
ZAVI is seeking a Fashion Designer & Production Executive to independently conceptualize designs, manage tech packs, oversee sampling and production, and source sustainable materials.

Responsibilities
- Independently conceptualise styles and capsule directions suited to ZAVI’s markets
- Initiate market and trend research and translate findings into cohesive design directions
- Develop mood boards, sketches, and fabric concepts as fully formed proposals
- Produce accurate tech packs with full construction details, graded measurements, and material specifications
- Create detailed flat sketches in Adobe Illustrator
- Brief factories on samples and manage the sampling process independently
- Conduct or assist in fit sessions, log corrections, update specs, track iterations
- Manage day to day communication with manufacturing partners
- Visit factories globally, independently or with the Lead as required
- Negotiate lead times and flag risks to the production calendar proactively
- Oversee QC at production stage and upon delivery
- Source fabrics, trims, and finishes aligned with ZAVI’s sustainable material framework
Requirements
- 4–6 years of experience in fashion design with end to end production involvement
- Portfolio demonstrating design authorship and commercial range
- Proven ability to design for more than one market
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Strong technical understanding of garment construction and natural/sustainable fabrics
- Comfortable in a factory environment
- Willingness to travel to India for factory visits (4–6 times per year minimum)
- Highly self directed
- Working knowledge of CLO 3D or similar is a plus

Key Responsibilities
- Design & Creative Development: Independently conceptualise styles and capsule directions suited to ZAVI’s markets — Dubai, Riyadh, & the UK.
- Initiate market and trend research and translate findings into cohesive design directions.
- Develop mood boards, sketches, and fabric concepts as fully formed proposals.
- Bring ideas to the Lead for alignment, then own execution completely.
- Maintain and evolve ZAVI’s design language: minimalist, seasonless, contemporary, conscious.
- Technical Design: Produce accurate tech packs with full construction details, graded measurements, and material specifications.
- Create detailed flat sketches in Adobe Illustrator.
- Manage all revision rounds through to final approved spec.
- Sampling: Brief factories on samples directly and manage the process independently.
- Conduct or assist in fit sessions — log corrections with precision, update specs, track iterations.
- Approve final samples in line with ZAVI’s quality and aesthetic standards.
- Production & Factory Management: Manage day to day communication with manufacturing partners.
What We’re Looking For
- 4–6 years of experience in fashion design with end to end production involvement.
- A portfolio that demonstrates design authorship and commercial range — not just execution.
- Proven ability to design for more than one market, with an understanding of how consumer needs differ.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; working knowledge of CLO 3D or similar is a plus.
- Strong technical understanding of garment construction and natural/sustainable fabrics.
- Comfortable and credible in a factory environment — can hold a conversation, spot a problem, and resolve it.
- Willingness to travel to India for factory visits (4–6 times per year minimum).
- Highly self directed — you create your own task list from a brief and see it through.
