Qualifications

• Must be a current NUNM student who is eligible for work-study employment.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work with limited supervision.
• Comfortable performing a combination of indoor and outdoor work.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate professionally with students, faculty, staff, vendors, and visitors.
• Willingness to learn basic Facilities procedures and follow safety requirements.
• Previous maintenance, landscaping, construction, custodial, or facilities experience is helpful but not required.

Physical Requirements

• This is an active position that may require standing and walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, using stairs, working outdoors, and moving supplies or equipment. The student should be able to safely lift and carry approximately 25–40 pounds, with assistance or appropriate equipment used for heavier items.
• Students will not be expected to perform electrical, plumbing, HVAC, life-safety, or other skilled trade work requiring specialized training or licensing.

Schedule

• The schedule will be developed around the student’s academic schedule and Facilities needs. Approximately 8–15 hours per week are anticipated, with opportunities for additional hours during campus projects, events, moves, or other periods of increased activity, subject to work-study eligibility and available funding.
• Some work may be completed independently, while other projects will be performed alongside Facilities staff.
• The Facilities Work-Study Student will play an important role in helping NUNM maintain a safe, welcoming, organized, and well-functioning campus for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
