Facilities Technician, Junior School

• Respond to and complete assigned work orders using the maintenance management system, ensuring timely updates and resolution
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and grounds
• Complete minor carpentry and installation work, including measuring, cutting, fastening, and assembling materials
• Assess and complete routine repairs to furniture, shelving, doors, hardware, fixtures, walls, flooring, and other building components
• Assess concerns and determine whether they can be resolved internally or require escalation to a licensed trade or external contractor
• Perform outdoor and seasonal maintenance, including shovelling snow, applying salt, clearing debris, and maintaining safe entrances, walkways, and exterior spaces
• Complete room, event, and rental set-ups and take-downs, including moving and arranging tables, chairs, equipment, and other materials
• Support school operations during peak times, including student arrival and dismissal as required
• Contribute to a safe working environment by following health and safety procedures and regulations
• Respond to facility-related emergencies such as floods, alarms, or power disruptions
• Use tools, equipment, and materials safely and appropriately
• Other job duties as assigned

• Valid driver’s license considered an asset
• Previous experience in general maintenance, property maintenance, facilities operations, construction, hospitality maintenance, or a similar hands-on environment
• Experience using common hand and power tools safely
• Comfortable using digital tools (computer or iPad) to receive, update, and complete work orders
• Strong customer service mindset, with the ability to interact professionally and respectfully with students, staff, parents, and external partners
• Reliable and responsive, with the ability to follow through on tasks and support a fast-paced school environment
• Ability to assess maintenance issues and complete minor repairs, both independently and as part of a team
• Practical knowledge of general building maintenance and the ability to recognize when work requires a licensed trade or specialized contractor.

• Regular physical activity including lifting, carrying, and moving materials (often up to 50 lbs)

• Occasional mornings, evenings, and weekends required
• This is an on-site role requiring presence on campus five days per week and meaningful engagement in our collaborative school community.

The target hiring range for this position is $55,00 - $60,000 annually.

Placement within the range is determined by job-related skills, experience and education.
