Facilities Operations Manager – Mechanical

• 5–8 years of experience in mechanical plant operations, HVAC service, critical cooling maintenance, or related uptime-critical environments such as data centers, healthcare, industrial plants, semiconductor, or large commercial facilities.
• 1–3+ years of experience leading technicians, maintenance teams, or service providers in a live operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of chilled water systems, cooling towers, pumps, CRAHs, AHUs, CDUs, and related controls platforms.
• Experience managing vendors, maintenance programs, incident response, and service execution in 24x7 operations.
• Familiarity with BMS, SCADA, DCIM, and CMMS tools.
• Experience supporting commissioning, turnover, or operational acceptance of new or upgraded mechanical systems is preferred.

• Strong troubleshooting judgment and calm decision-making under pressure.
• Deep commitment to safety, procedure adherence, and documentation rigor.
• Clear communicator able to translate plant conditions, risks, and actions for varied stakeholders.
• Strong planning and execution discipline across maintenance, backlog, and operational priorities.
• Ability to lead technicians and vendors while reinforcing accountability and consistent field execution.

• Experience with mission-critical cooling infrastructure and redundancy strategies in high-availability environments.
• Familiarity with predictive maintenance, trend analysis, controls integration, and operational performance monitoring.
• EPA Section 608 Certification preferred where refrigerant-handling responsibilities apply.
• HVAC trade license, mechanical certification, or equivalent technical qualification where applicable.
• OEM or manufacturer training on chillers, cooling systems, pumps, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC systems, or related controls platforms preferred.
• OSHA 30 preferred.

Physical Demands / Work Environment This is a mission-critical onsite role supporting 24/7 operations where continuous uptime is essential; as such, regular attendance, schedule flexibility, and response readiness are required.

To perform these duties, you must be able to frequently walk, bend, kneel, crouch, push/pull objects, and climb stairs.

You may be required to lift or move up to 39 pounds independently and participate in group lifts for loads 40 pounds or greater.

You must also be capable of maintaining balance while working from ladders or elevated platforms.

These tasks are performed in an industrial environment and must be executed safely, with or without reasonable accommodation, to maintain the continuous health of facility infrastructure.
