Role overview

Lead all aspects of safety, facilities and estate management at Hindleap Warren, an outdoor learning centre.

Support and advise the facilities team at the London office, with a monthly London office visit expected.

The role combines strategic planning with hands-on delivery to keep buildings, grounds and systems safe, compliant, efficient and sustainable.

Facilities management

  • Lead facilities management services covering M&E, building fabric, cleaning, housekeeping, laundry, parking, grounds, waste, pest control and external contractors.
  • Maintain a planned preventative maintenance programme for buildings, plant and equipment.
  • Procure and manage services, evaluate contracts and tenders, and assess value for money.
  • Set estates, facilities and health and safety budgets with senior centre leadership and advise on capital expenditure.
  • Lead, line-manage and develop the housekeeping and facilities team.

Health and safety

  • Maintain the health and safety management system and ensure regulatory requirements are met.
  • Oversee risk assessments, health and safety policies, procedures and annual audits.
  • Attend monthly Safety and Safeguarding Team meetings and analyse accident and incident data.
  • Provide occasional out-of-hours support during emergency situations.

What you bring

  • Experience delivering safe and effective work on customer-facing premises and grounds.
  • Experience managing high-performing teams and leading teams across multiple sites.
  • Relevant facilities and estates management and health and safety qualifications are required.
  • NEBOSH General is essential.
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety compliance standards and experience training others in health and safety are required.
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels and contribute to management-led change is required.
