Learn More About PPS Job Purpose The Facilities Engineering Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, execution, engineering, operation, and continuous improvement of two manufacturing facilities supporting aerospace and defense production. This role oversees site infrastructure, facility expansions, production area layout optimization, utilities engineering, and the engineering rigor required to maintain high reliability manufacturing environments. The Facilities Engineering Manager develops long term facilities strategies, leads capital projects, ensures regulatory compliance, and drives facility readiness to support ongoing production, future growth, and operational excellence. This position serves as the primary engineering liaison for facilities and infrastructure, partnering closely with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, EHS, Quality, Supply Chain, and external contractors to ensure both sites remain safe, scalable, efficient, and aligned with company objectives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead planning, engineering design, and execution of facility expansions, renovations, and modernization projects to support manufacturing capacity growth and new production requirements. Oversee multi site facility operations including building systems, utilities, manufacturing infrastructure, and critical environments to ensure continuous readiness and operational reliability. Develop and maintain long term facility master plans focused on growth, manufacturing layout optimization, workflow efficiency, and alignment with Lean principles. Engineer and optimize manufacturing layouts, space utilization, equipment placement, and material flow to improve overall production efficiency and future scalability. Serve as the primary point of contact for all infrastructure engineering activities, coordinating with Operations, EHS, Engineering, Quality, and contractors. Lead capital improvement projects (CAPEX) including scope development, engineering evaluations, specifications, budgeting, vendor management, project scheduling, and commissioning. Ensure all facilities comply with relevant regulatory requirements including environmental regulations, OSHA safety standards, building codes, fire protection, and industry compliance requirements. Manage engineering and maintenance of facility utilities such as electrical distribution, high voltage systems, HVAC, compressed air, mechanical systems, chilled water, fire suppression, network infrastructure, and sewer. Lead preventive and predictive maintenance strategies that maximize equipment uptime, improve reliability, and minimize site level downtime. Maintain facilities documentation including engineering drawings, utility schematics, layout plans, maintenance records, and emergency response documentation. Conduct infrastructure assessments, capacity planning, and building system evaluations to identify risks and opportunities for process and facility improvement. Manage relationships with landlords, inspectors, contractors, engineering firms, regulatory agencies, and service providers. Develop annual facilities budgets, capital plans, and cost forecasts; manage spending to ensure alignment with financial targets. Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and engineering excellence. Mentor technicians, maintenance personnel, and contractors in technical procedures and engineering requirements. Manage utility vendors, waste management, and cleaning services. Gather and repot utility information to corporate. Perform other duties as assigned.
