Role description
The Facade & Firestopping Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The specialist reviews façade and firestopping designs and supports fire safety compliance on complex developments.
Responsibilities
- Review façade and firestopping designs, drawings, and specifications for compliance with applicable codes and UAE Civil Defence requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and document findings related to façade systems, passive fire protection, and firestopping installations.
- Prepare technical reports and manage documentation for authority approvals and quality assurance.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, authority representatives, and other project stakeholders.
- Resolve design and construction issues and support authority approvals.
- Contribute to testing and commissioning activities.
- Provide technical guidance on best practices and support continuous improvement of façade fire safety and firestopping quality.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of façade systems, passive fire protection, and firestopping design and installation.
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Experience in Fire and Life Safety and building code compliance for high-rise or complex developments.
- Proficiency in site inspections, technical reports, authority approval documentation, and quality assurance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with UAE Fire Code requirements and international codes such as NFPA, ASTM, and UL is highly beneficial.
