Smith Industries is seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop Foreman to lead daily operations within our fabrication shop.

This role is responsible for supervising fabrication personnel, coordinating production schedules, ensuring work meets engineering and quality standards, and maintaining a safe and efficient shop environment.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on fabrication experience combined with proven leadership in a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting.

• Lead and supervise fabrication shop personnel including welders, fitters, machinists, and laborers
• Coordinate daily production schedules to meet operational deadlines and productivity goals
• Ensure fabrication work complies with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards
• Monitor workflow, materials, and inventory to maintain efficient shop operations
• Enforce safety policies and OSHA standards while promoting a strong safety culture
• Inspect tools, machinery, and shop equipment and coordinate maintenance when needed
• Work closely with engineering, quality, and procurement teams to resolve production challenges
• Train, mentor, and develop fabrication personnel
• Maintain production and labor records and provide updates to management
• Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings within the fabrication process

• 5+ years of fabrication, welding, or metalworking experience
• 2+ years in a supervisory or foreman role preferred
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, fabrication techniques, and blueprint reading
