Description Overview
The Local Supply Planner supports daily, medium-term and long-term supply planning and execution for finished goods across the UK and Ireland.
The role interfaces between Central Supply Planning and UK and Ireland stakeholders to align and execute supply plans.
The role supports S&OE, IBP, new product development and portfolio activity while balancing service, cost, inventory and risk.
Supply Chain Planning and Execution
- Support daily execution, mid-term planning and long-term supply visibility for internal and external supply portfolios.
- Manage constraints, assumptions and scenarios while executing agreed supply plans.
- Support planned and unplanned supply events, including demand changes, supply constraints, quality changes and new product introductions.
- Identify risks and actions for new product development, lifecycle changes and portfolio updates.
Risk and Information Management
- Track supply risks and opportunities across short-, mid- and long-term horizons.
- Communicate weekly supply risks, mitigation options and business implications for S&OE discussions.
- Manage information flow between Central Planning and UK and Ireland teams.
- Challenge assumptions, highlight gaps and escalate issues with business context and potential impact.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a local supply planning contact for UK and Ireland stakeholders.
- Present planning scenarios, options, trade-offs and impacts in supply, IBP and cross-functional forums.
- Build relationships with Customer Supply, Commercial, Quality, Finance, Logistics and operational teams.
- Support difficult conversations about service impact, prioritisation, constraints and outlook changes.
Orders, Inventory and Systems
- Support purchase order execution and prioritisation in line with agreed supply plans.
- Reconcile inventory across SAP and third-party logistics partners and coordinate discrepancy resolution.
- Support resolution of IDoc and data issues affecting planning accuracy, execution and reporting.
- Work with Customer Supply and Finance to support inventory health and service performance.
Reporting and Improvement
- Prepare supply planning reports and inputs for daily management, S&OE and IBP processes.
- Analyse supply, demand and inventory trends to identify execution and longer-term risks.
- Contribute to planning, communication and cross-functional process improvements.
- Support supply chain projects and changes to tools, reporting and governance.
Experience Required
- Have two to four years of experience in supply planning, supply chain or operations within FMCG, pharmaceutical or manufacturing environments.
- Have strong Excel and analytical skills and the ability to explain implications clearly.
- Communicate confidently, influence stakeholders and present planning information.
- Work flexibly and effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Handle difficult conversations constructively and professionally.
- Be organised, proactive, detail-focused and customer-oriented.
