Summary
Mortenson is currently seeking an Experienced Field Engineer to join the Structured Cabling Group.
The role will support and complete the full cycle of field coordination issues with team members, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
Location
TBD – location and project will be assigned.
This role will require 100% travel on a rotational basis (on average it could be 3-4 weeks on a project site / about 1 week at home.
This schedule is an estimate as it is also based on project need)
**Traveling opportunities across the U.S. include but not limited to: LA, TX, CA, NM, WY, WI, IN, UT, IL
Responsibilities
- Provide Pre-Construction support Manage the submittal and RFI processes for specific definable features of work (DFW), utilizing PMA and other Project Connect programs completely to closure Evaluate project design and engineering documents, managing their organization and distribution to necessary parties Conduct advanced research on living arrangements for project team members

- Assist with the preparation of Pre-Mobilization Kickoff meetings Compile, contact, and arrange for short-form subcontracts with local entities at the project site Power, trailers, housing, local subcontractors, etc. Assist in drafting subcontracts and purchase agreements Review and utilize the Best Practice Database for SWIs, quality documents, prep meetings, etc.

- Manage all aspects necessary for Construction support Manage the quality assurance & quality control process as delineated in the Project Quality Plan Manage the inventory process as materials arrive to the site: inspection, offload, receiving, and storage Coordinate DFW prep meetings, initial inspections, follow-up inspections, punch list final inspections Assist Project Manager and Project Superintendents as needed regarding material and equipment management (pickup trucks, rented/owned equipment, coordinate the equipment facility) Manage mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordination drawings, shop and as-built drawings Coordinate the creation of lift and formwork drawings Manage production logs for work put in place (self-performed or subcontracted) Track Event Management incidents regarding Safety or Quality in DFW responsibilities

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, or another science or mathematics-related degree, or an equivalent combination of education and substantial technical/field experience over multiple years
- Previous related internship experience a plus
- Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively manage multiple tasks
- Possess a basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
- Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills
- Current driver’s license
- Ability to travel 100% on a rotational basis

The base compensation range for this role is: $78,800 - $98,500.
Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skill, and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
