Role Overview
Mechanical engineering maintenance role supporting equipment and infrastructure at a ports and terminals operation in Nhava Sheva.
Maintenance Responsibilities
- Maintain equipment, substations, gates, administration buildings, staff colonies, workstations, and fire pumps.
- Perform routine, preventive, and breakdown maintenance on equipment.
- Inspect equipment routinely and take corrective action.
- Attend breakdowns and diagnose and correct equipment faults.
- Supervise repair areas and respond promptly to reported hazards.
- Record jobs, manpower, and equipment status in the shift logbook and verify shift staff reports.
- Maintain shift breakdown records and record equipment breakdown times.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and consultants to expedite major or critical breakdown rectification.
- Create preventive maintenance documents according to equipment schedules and implement them through planned maintenance software.
- Implement maintenance practices that maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime while meeting safety standards.
- Prioritize issues according to severity.
Technical Knowledge
- For the mechanical engineering scope, in-depth knowledge of engines, hydraulics, ropes, and gearboxes is required.
- For the electrical engineering scope, in-depth knowledge of PLC and drive systems is stated in the source description.
