  • The Executive Manager – Squad Cyber Technical Lead is a high-level strategic and technical leadership position within Deeplight consultancy, embedded directly within a major banking client.
  • The role is responsible for defining the technical cyber strategy for a dedicated engineering delivery squad and steering the execution of complex security initiatives.
  • Serving as the primary technical authority within the squad, this position bridges the gap between enterprise security architecture, senior leadership vision, and hands-on deployment.
  • The successful candidate will drive technical excellence, maintain strict regulatory compliance alignment, and optimize squad velocity within a Tier 1 financial institution.
  • Your responsibilities in this role include:
  • Strategic Direction: Translate macro enterprise cyber security strategies into actionable technical roadmaps, architectural patterns, and engineering deliverables for the squad.
  • Technical Authority: Serve as the ultimate technical decision-maker within the squad, ensuring all software, platform, and security engineering activities align with bank-wide architecture standards.
  • Delivery Execution: Oversee the end-to-end technical delivery lifecycle, actively managing engineering risks, technical dependencies, and complex release schedules.
  • Squad Leadership: Lead and mentor a cross-functional squad of security engineers, architects, and analysts, optimizing performance, fostering collaboration, and driving engineering accountability.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary technical interface for senior bank executives, enterprise architects, and risk committees, presenting technical solutions and delivery progress.
  • Deeplight Representation: Champion professional excellence, technical integrity, and consultative leadership across all client interactions, setting a benchmark for the broader team.

Requirements

  • We need you to have:
  • A minimum of 8 years in senior cybersecurity, engineering, or enterprise architecture roles, with at least 3 years acting as a technical lead or delivery director.
  • Extensive experience driving technical delivery within a highly regulated tier-1 or tier-2 financial institution, navigating complex legacy environments and strict change controls.
  • A proven track record in a senior client-facing professional services or management consulting role, managing executive client relationships and project scopes.
  • Documented experience leading the technical deployment of enterprise-wide security solutions (e.g., identity platforms, cloud infrastructure security, or global data protection tools).
  • An advanced ability to design and implement pragmatic, forward-looking security strategies across complex enterprise environments.
  • Expertise in validating technical designs against corporate blueprints, zero-trust principles, and industry-standard security models.
  • Proven capability to command technical authority, resolve complex architectural disputes, and lead high-performing technical squads.
  • Advanced proficiency in Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies to govern technical execution and delivery pipelines.
  • Strong communication and diplomacy skills, with the capacity to defend technical decisions and risk trade-offs to non-technical C-suite stakeholders.
  • It would also be great if you have:
  • Relevant professional designations such as CISSP, ISSAP, CISM, TOGAF, or advanced Agile Leadership credentials (e.g., PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist).
  • Advanced knowledge of securing distributed workloads across AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Practical familiarity with DevSecOps implementation, automated compliance-as-code, and containerization security models.
