We are looking for a Verification Engineer, HIL to support verification and validation of embedded software for powertrain applications. This role is well suited for candidates returning to work after a career break who bring a strong foundation in embedded systems, testing, or model-based development, even if they do not meet every requirement listed below.

Role overview

In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams to verify embedded software in simulated environments and help ensure quality, traceability, and test coverage across the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute HIL verification activities for embedded software in powertrain systems
  • Build, maintain, and improve HIL test setups using MATLAB/Simulink and TargetLink
  • Integrate and verify embedded software modules in simulated environments
  • Collaborate with software developers and system engineers to support traceability and coverage
  • Support CI/CD workflows and version control practices
  • Analyze and debug embedded C/C++ software
  • Support integration of plant models into the HIL environment
  • Document test results and contribute to continuous improvement of verification processes

What we are looking for

Knowledge of MATLAB, Simulink, and preferably TargetLink

Experience or understanding of HIL verification and embedded software testing

Familiarity with embedded software integration and debugging

Basic to good understanding of C/C++ for embedded systems

Exposure to CI/CD tools and version control systems such as Git or Jenkins

Understanding of CAN and automotive communication concepts

Awareness of powertrain systems or control strategies

Nice to have

Experience with plant model development or integration

Broader understanding of vehicle dynamics and powertrain architecture

Exposure to automotive software development standards such as ASPICE or ISO 26262
