Security and safety: Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
The Excavator Operator reports to the Foreman and will be responsible for preparing the ground for pipeline installation as required.
· Operate heavy equipment (excavator/hoe), including Hydraulic Excavator,
· Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks,
· Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment,
· Secure special attachments to equipment,
· Perform minor repairs to equipment,
· Ensure the trench is excavated to the specific depth/grade,
· Place water, storm, and sanitary sewer pipe in the excavation,
· Observe the condition of the equipment and materials used to ensure it meets the company’s standards,
· Report any possible problems or defects,
· Ensure all work is conducted in a safe and responsible manner,
· Follow directions of the ground crew regarding craning, gravel placement, and grading,
· Operate two-way ratios and other communication equipment,
· Prepare accident reports,
· Know, understand, and ensure compliance with safety regulations,
· Ensure compliance with current ground disturbance regulations,
· Know and follow the company’s rules, policies, and procedures.
