Role Description

The Event Technical Manager Audio / Video / Lighting is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar.

This role oversees the planning, setup, operation, and breakdown of audio, video, and lighting systems for live events, ensuring high-quality technical delivery that meets client and production requirements.

Responsibilities include coordinating with event producers and creative teams, preparing technical plans and equipment lists, and supervising load-in, rigging, and system configuration.

The Event Technical Manager leads and schedules technical crews, manages vendors and rentals, and provides real-time troubleshooting and technical support during events.

The role also involves maintaining equipment, ensuring safety and compliance standards, tracking technical budgets, and contributing to continuous improvements in event technology and production processes.

Qualifications

  • Strong Analytical Skills to assess technical needs, troubleshoot complex AV/lighting issues, and optimize system performance.
  • Proven Team Management experience, including leading technical crews, assigning tasks, coaching team members, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Hands-on Technical Support capabilities for audio, video, and lighting systems, including installation, configuration, testing, and live event operation.
  • Experience in Research and Development (R&D) to evaluate new event technologies, recommend equipment upgrades, and implement innovative technical solutions.
  • Solid Project Management skills to plan event timelines, manage technical budgets, coordinate multiple events, and ensure delivery within scope and deadlines.
  • Extensive knowledge of professional sound systems, video projection/LED walls, live streaming, and stage lighting consoles and fixtures.
  • Familiarity with safety standards, rigging practices, and industry best practices for live events.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant diploma or degree in Audio Engineering, Event Technology, Media Production, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Previous experience in event production, live entertainment, or corporate events in the Middle East is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in programming event lights, programming screens through Resolume and Sound System Design & Speaker Distribution software
