Role Description
To prepare and manage accurate cost estimates for projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and requirements, ensuring competitive pricing and effective budget planning.
The role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, evaluating project details, and identifying cost-effective solutions to support successful project execution and achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Review project specifications, drawings, and scope to prepare accurate cost estimates.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and gather relevant data for pricing.
Analyze blueprints and technical documents to determine material, labor and time requirements.
Request and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Maintain records of historical pricing, past estimates, and actual project costs.
Assist in preparing budgets, tender documents, and proposals.
Coordinate with the production and procurement teams to align estimates with actual capabilities.
Track market rates and trends to ensure competitive and updated pricing.
Prepare estimate vs actual reports for completed projects.
Support the sales or project team with technical queries related to estimation.
Qualification
Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
Minimum of 8 years’ experience as an estimation engineer with minimum 3 years experience in GCC in the heavy steel fabrication, oil and gas construction industry or related field.
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Proficient in AutoCAD.
Good understanding of CNC machines, and steel fabrication processes.
