Role Overview
The Equipment Financing Operations Manager is part of CIBC’s Loan Operations team in a fast-paced back-office environment.
The manager leads staff within a medium or moderately complex operational unit supporting an equipment financing lending and leasing portfolio.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and management to staff and oversee direct reports managing multiple processes with distinct procedures and varied complexity.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service to internal business partners and clients.
- Monitor, delegate, and distribute workload to achieve efficient and equitable workflow with minimal overtime.
- Handle escalated issues by identifying root causes and making sound decisions to resolve complex problems promptly.
People Leadership
- Lead, motivate, mentor, and guide staff through regular coaching and feedback.
- Provide industry-specific expertise to resolve complex issues and develop problem-solving capability within the team.
- Build a culture of teamwork focused on quality standards and outstanding customer service.
Work Arrangement
- The role uses a hybrid work arrangement with two days per week on-site and other days remote.
- The job location is CIBC’s processing center at 70 W Madison St, Floor 9, Chicago, Illinois.
Schedule
- Flexibility to work processing-center hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
- The position has a 40-hour weekly schedule.
Candidate Profile
- Experience providing coaching and hands-on support to meet team goals.
- Ability to oversee multiple loan-operations processes with distinct procedures and varied complexity.
- Ability to investigate escalated issues, identify root causes, and make sound decisions on complex problems.
- Skills include analytical thinking, business operations, customer service, operations management, operations support, prioritization, process improvement, and technical knowledge.
Compensation and Benefits
- Expected salary is $86,600-$93,000, with possible incentive compensation or discretionary bonus.
- Benefits include medical, dental, vision, insurance, paid time off, holidays, 401(k), and other programs.
