Position Overview

The role is presented as a senior Mechanical Designer position supporting heavy engineering, hydro, and renewable systems.

The position is based in Safdarjung, New Delhi, with mandatory travel and site- and project-based work.

The role requires independent handling of mechanical design and engineering validation.

Mechanical Design

  • Design and develop EOT cranes and crane components for project requirements.
  • Perform calculations for girders, end carriages, hoists, wheels, shafts, and other crane components.
  • Prepare 2D and 3D drawings, general arrangement drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials using SolidWorks.
  • Select and size motors, gearboxes, brakes, bearings, wire ropes, and other mechanical components.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, quality, and project teams.

Engineering Analysis

  • Perform stress and strain, finite element, dynamic and vibration, fatigue and failure, and modal analyses.
  • Use ANSYS Mechanical, ANSYS Fluent, or equivalent simulation software.
  • Validate designs under real-life loading conditions, fluid interaction, and operational stresses.
  • Optimize designs for performance, safety, weight, and cost based on analysis outputs.

Standards and Project Support

  • Ensure designs comply with IS 3177, IS 807, and other relevant standards.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, inspection, testing, and commissioning.
  • Support complex custom-engineered systems through design and execution.

Required Experience and Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering analysis is required.
  • Strong expertise in SolidWorks and ANSYS or equivalent FEA/CFD simulation tools is required.
  • Experience with structural and heavy fabrication design, gearboxes and drivetrains, rotating equipment, and turbine systems is required.
  • Understanding of material science, failure mechanisms, load conditions, manufacturing, fabrication, machining, and assembly is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BTech or MTech in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience in hydropower, marine structures, or renewable energy systems is preferred.
  • Exposure to fluid-structure interaction, hydrodynamic systems, site support, installation, and commissioning is preferred.

Travel and Workplace

  • Extensive travel is mandatory for site and project-based work.
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site is mandatory.
  • The stated work location is in person.

Compensation

  • The stated pay range is ₹35,000 to ₹60,000 per month.
