The Reliability Engineer is responsible for improving the reliability, integrity, and safety of equipment and systems across operations. This role uses data-driven analysis, engineering principles, and proactive maintenance strategies to reduce failures, optimise asset life, and support safe, cost effective operations.
Operated Assets sits with Wood’s Operations EMEA business and is based in Aberdeen. We build long term strategic relationships with clients across each of our 4 sub-service lines: Decommissioning, Operations & Maintenance, Duty Holder and Optimised Energy. Analyse asset performance data to identify trends, recurring failures, and improvement opportunities
Develop and maintain asset reliability models, including criticality assessments and failure mode analysis
Implement reliability centred maintenance (RCM), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA/FMECA), and condition monitoring strategies
Optimise preventive and predictive maintenance plans to ensure efficient asset care
Recommend maintenance task changes based on reliability insights and operational performance
Support digitalisation of maintenance data, KPIs, and dashboards
Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and integrity issues
Develop corrective and preventive actions, tracking implementation and effectiveness
Support Pro Active Technical Monitoring and Exception Based Surveillance

Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Reliability, or related)
Knowledge of reliability engineering principles (RCM, FMEA, RCA, reliability modelling)
Strong analytical skills with experience in CMMS/EAM systems (e.g. SAP)
Ability to interpret maintenance and asset performance data
Experience in oil & gas, manufacturing, chemicals, utilities, or heavy industry.
Offshore Certification such as BOSIET.
Certification such as CMRP, CRE, or equivalent.
Site experience in the introduction and development of reliability processes and procedures.
Familiarity with condition monitoring techniques.
Root Cause Analysis Certification.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
