Are you a strategic environmental leader passionate about sustainability, compliance, and operational excellence? Join CertainTeed Canada’s Mining team and play a critical role in driving environmental performance across our quarry and rail operations in British Columbia.
As Environmental Manager , you will lead the environmental strategy and execution for our BC mining operations, including two surface quarries and rail load-out facilities supporting our wallboard plants and external customers.
You will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous environmental improvement , while supporting safe and sustainable operations. This is a high-impact role interfacing with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and Indigenous communities.
What You’ll Do
Leadership & Strategy
Lead all environmental programs across multiple quarry and rail sites
Mentor Environmental Technologists and manage external consultants
Drive a culture of environmental stewardship, accountability, and continuous improvement
Align site practices with corporate sustainability objectives
Compliance & Permitting
Ensure compliance with BC mining and environmental regulations (Mines Act, EMA, permits)
Lead permitting activities, amendments, and renewals
Act as the key liaison with regulatory agencies
Prepare and review technical reports and regulatory submissions
