Parsons is looking for a talented Environmental Engineer to join our team! The Environmental Engineer is responsible for coordinating the environmental interface with the various Contractors on site, and for ensuring compliance of all construction activities with the Construction Environmental Management Plan CEMP. The scope includes review of new work sites to ensure compliance with their CEMP, and review of Contractor environmental documentation to ensure best environmental practice. It will also include oversight of sample collection and review of results. The Environmental Engineer will spend a significant amount of time on site observing conditions and Contractor activities to ensure that CEMP commitments are met, especially regarding sensitive environmental issues such as dust control, site cleanliness, vehicle maintenance facilities, and protection of local flora and fauna. What You’ll Be Doing Environmental oversight: This will include verification of compliance with the Client’s CEMP, as well as the review and approval of environmental documentation and field verification of compliance with the environmental documentation. Ensure that the environmental safeguards and management measures in the CEMP are being implemented across the site. Assist the Senior Environment Manager in the preparation of documentation and in the implementation of the CEMP. Conduct daily site walkovers to monitor and record site compliance, including air quality and noise conditions. Conduct on-site monitoring and oversee sample collection and review of results. Report on all environmental issues, observations, and non-conformances to the Environment Manager. Monitor workers’ performance including subcontractors on site with regards to environmental requirements and compliance with the CEMP. Communicate environmental instructions or information from the CEMP or the Environmental Manager to staff on site. Collaborate on the collection of data and evidence for the Contractor’s monthly environmental reports and logs. Report to the Parsons program Senior Environmental Manager. Ability to participate in meetings, document discussions, produce minutes of meeting and issue them expeditiously as required. Undertake environmental toolbox talks and inductions to raise awareness of CEMP requirements and site-specific environmental risks. What Required Skills You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in environmental management, environmental engineering, civil engineering, or a related construction field At least 4+ years of experience in a similar environmental engineering role on construction or infrastructure projects Certified practitioner or associate practitioner with an internationally recognized body, with LEED AP and ISO 14001 (environmental management systems) Parsons equally employs representation at all job levels no matter the race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability or genetic information.
