About the Role
Cpl is hiring an EHS Manager for a pharmaceutical manufacturer in the West of Ireland. The role leads EHS strategy, compliance, and team development in a complex manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the company’s EHS strategy, aligning it with business goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Own site wide EHS compliance, including audits, inspections, safety programmes, and reporting.
- Maintain and enhance the Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with ISO 14001 requirements.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the organisation through a proactive, data driven risk management approach.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high performing EHS team, fostering a collaborative, solutions focused culture.
- Oversee occupational health programmes, promoting employee wellbeing and proactive health initiatives.
- Manage emergency response planning, ensuring readiness through regular drills, training, and scenario testing.
- Act as key point of contact for regulatory bodies, external auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Drive incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventative actions.
- Develop and roll out EHS training and communication programmes across all levels of the business.
- Ensure compliance with chemical safety, dangerous goods, and hazardous substance regulations.
- Oversee contractor safety, ensuring all third parties adhere to site standards and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in Environmental, Health & Safety roles, ideally within manufacturing
- Experience in regulated setting such as pharmaceutical, medical device, or GMP manufacturing highly desirable
- Proven leadership experience with ability to build, develop, and influence teams and stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, compliance frameworks, and risk management methodologies
- Experience with chemical safety and industrial safety systems
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Recognised Occupational Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH or equivalent)
