Role overview
Build machine learning systems for Yelp's users, businesses, and listings.
Work across the full machine learning lifecycle, including data pipelines, model training, production deployment, and generative AI applications.
The role is fully remote across Canada.
What you'll do
- Address challenges such as ad personalization, search ranking, Voice AI, chatbots, churn prevention, clickstream analytics, classification, recommendations, and bot detection.
- Collaborate with software engineers, applied scientists, and product managers on consumer and business data use cases.
- Balance scale, latency, cost, and availability for machine learning solutions.
What it takes to succeed
- Experience developing and productionizing machine learning models with supporting data pipelines.
- Strong coding skills in Python or an equivalent language such as Java or C++.
- Familiarity with LLM models from providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google Gemini.
- Familiarity with agentic design, such as LangGraph.
- Ability to architect large systems with scalable interfaces.
- Understanding of data pipelines for training and deploying models or ETL pipelines for metrics, analytics, or product features.
