The Chat Platform team powers Yelp Assistant experiences on Android, iOS, and Web using real-time, interactive, Server Driven UI components.
This entry-level role contributes to platform infrastructure serving millions of users with low latency, high reliability, safety, and privacy standards.
Workplace
- The opportunity is fully remote across Canada and does not require residence in a particular Canadian area.
What you will do
- Build and extend Server Driven UI components across Android, iOS, and Web.
- Write, test, and ship production-grade Python and TypeScript code.
- Contribute to streaming APIs and client SDKs for real-time chat interactions.
- Partner with chat features and chat intelligence teams on platform capabilities.
- Instrument chat flows with metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
- Participate in code reviews, on-call rotations, and incident response.
- Investigate production issues and contribute fixes across services and client surfaces.
What it takes to succeed
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
