Role overview

Work as a Project Intern within ByteDance's enterprise-services platform team supporting global growth and operations.

Collaborate with product, design, and cross-regional engineering teams throughout the product development cycle.

Contribute to short-term projects and gain hands-on experience in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to backend services and the Agent runtime, including profiling and tuning for performance and stability.
  • Integrate internal enterprise systems into Agents through Tools, MCP, CLI, and A2A.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow coding standards and architectural conventions.
  • Write AI-friendly technical documentation and contribute to the team knowledge base.
  • Support AI-driven backend feature development, evaluation, and validation.

Minimum qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, AI, Information Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Available to start the internship immediately, ideally within one week.
  • Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and computer systems with strong coding habits.
  • Proficiency in one or more of Golang, Java, or Python.
  • Hands-on experience with distributed systems and microservice architecture.
  • Familiarity with or hands-on experience in AI Agent architectural patterns.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills and interest in Agent engineering.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience building an AI product, Agent, or application for real-world users.
  • Experience with mainstream Agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or Claude Agent SDK.
  • Experience with Prompt Engineering, Harness Engineering, Context Management, and Evaluation.
