Prototype and implement changes to equipment and facilities to improve performance and reliability.
Machine, fabricate, and fasten materials using a diverse range of tools and equipment including welding equipment, lathes, mills, surface grinders, drill presses, CNC machines, and various hand tools.
Document equipment and facilities by taking measurements, operating 3D scanning equipment, and redlining drawings to maintain an accurate record of as-built status.
Oversee outside contractors to ensure that all work is performed according to Armtec's safety regulations.
Track, monitor, and manage workload and provide updates as needed to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Perform pilot-scale production operations and provide feedback on effectiveness.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technicians to implement and improve designs and processes.
Maintain detailed records of experiments, results, procedures, and observations, and prepare technical reports.
Assist engineers in developing, installing, and maintaining equipment, systems, or prototypes.
Build, calibrate, and test mechanical, electrical, or electronic components to ensure functionality.
Prepare materials, reagents, and samples to meet quality standards.
Maintain and improve cleanliness of work areas.
Conduct laboratory experiments, simulations, and tests to validate hypotheses or prototype performance.
Use Management of Change (MOC) processes to review engineering changes for safety, quality, and production impacts.
Install equipment and tooling, ensuring that all work is done in compliance with safety standards.
Uphold the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
Understand and abide by Armtec's ethics and business conduct policies.
Perform other related duties as required.
A high school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training is a plus. Toolmaker experience preferred.
At least two years of proven work experience in an industrial setting.
Proficiency in fabrication and welding.
Familiarity with spreadsheet and word processor software.
Ability to read technical drawings.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage workload and provide timely updates.
