Duties
- Coordinate specialized teams for field operations
- Direct operation of vessels in the ocean and estuaries as part of coastal research activities
- Provide subject matter expertise to major technical projects/programs
- Direct team members on servicing and maintenance of vehicles and equipment with diesel engines and hydraulic systems operated in the marine environment
- Diagnose and repair failure in diesel engines and hydraulic systems operated in the marine environment
- Perform fabrication of specialized subsea equipment mounts using metal working skills
- Deploy and recover oceanographic instrumentation
- Navigate operating vessels in marine environment
