Role Overview
Maintain hotel facilities, engineering systems, tools, and related equipment in a safe and efficient condition.
Work across guest rooms, public areas, hotel grounds, and engineering plant areas.
Engineering and Maintenance
- Operate and maintain advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
- Repair toilets, drains, hardware, plumbing, electrical equipment, lamps, air conditioners, and cosmetic items.
- Respond to maintenance requests and perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned tool pouch in clean, protected, and secure condition.
Life Safety and Emergencies
- Monitor fire alarm and life-safety systems and remain informed about their operation.
- Check fire sprinkler and emergency power systems and respond quickly to alarms or pre-warnings.
- Handle engineering emergencies to protect guests, associates, the building, and its systems.
- Follow emergency procedures for fire, medical incidents, bomb threats, water leaks, gas leaks, electrical failures, and elevators.
Records and Operations
- Read, log, track, and interpret readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring devices.
- Record electric, water, LPG, and swimming pool readings, including three daily pool readings for assigned duty.
- Maintain daily activity and problem logs and communicate information during shift handovers.
- Observe energy and utilities usage and report opportunities for conservation.
Safety and Coordination
- Follow job safety analyses, safe work practices, and applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
- Identify and correct hazardous conditions and report occupational health and safety concerns.
- Coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, Security, Health Club, Kitchen, and other hotel departments.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and communicate material, tool, and supply needs.
Education and Experience
- High school graduation or an equivalent vocational training certificate is required.
- Two years of previous experience in a similar role is required.
- Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
- Read blueprints, schematic drawings, technical parts breakdowns, test equipment, measuring devices, and safety manuals.
- Competent oral and written English communication skills are required.
