Engineering tech lead/ Senior Associate Director, Software Engineering Specialist

Position Overview

Engineering and Architecture

• Design and engineer software with customer and user experience as key objectives.
• Deliver and support data infrastructure and architecture for data storage and consumption across the bank.
• Design and develop applications with emphasis on interface and front-end usability.
• Engineer security measures for internal and external systems, networks, products, and services.
• Establish digital environments and automate processes for predictable code and data quality.

Leadership and Governance

• Share subject-matter expertise, best practices, and lessons learned within the technology engineering practice.
• Drive adherence to technology engineering standards and policies.
• Develop team capabilities, mentor team members, remove roadblocks, and hold teams accountable.
• Promote team empowerment, engagement, meaningful contribution, and sustainable delivery quality.
• Manage stakeholder communications and help implement project governance.

Operations and Resilience

• Work with operations, development, and test engineers to identify and address operational issues throughout releases and changes.
• Support identification and resolution of IT service incidents as directed by DevOps leadership.
• Ensure service resilience, sustainability, and recovery time objectives for delivered software solutions.
• Keep current with cybersecurity, data privacy, consent, and data residency considerations.

Technical Requirements

• Knowledge of Java and cloud technologies.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Docker, MongoDB, SQL, microservices design, Kafka, and GCP.
• Experience designing and implementing DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience supporting middleware and database design, build, and troubleshooting in development and production.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools including AppDynamics, Splunk, Geneos, or IBM Tivoli Monitoring.
• Experience in agile and DevOps environments using Jenkins, GitHub, Confluence, and JIRA.

Leadership Requirements

• Experience working across operations, development, and test engineering teams to resolve operational issues.
• Experience providing technical leadership to large developer teams and working with senior business stakeholders.

Advantageous Knowledge

• Knowledge of the GRC domain, including risk and control assessment systems, is advantageous.
• Knowledge of OpenPages, Archer, MetricStream, or ServiceNow IRM is desirable.
