Position Summary
Maintain hotel tools, appliances, equipment, and life-safety systems.
Respond to guest repair requests and support engineering operations.
Assist with engineering staff supervision, training, scheduling, evaluation, and coaching.
Maintenance and Engineering
- Install, maintain, perform preventive maintenance on, and recommend replacement of tools, appliances, and equipment.
- Calibrate controls, gauges, and meters and operate shut-off valves.
- Order, mark, and stock parts and supplies while maintaining inventory and purchase order logs.
- Inspect tools, equipment, and machines and operate power lifts.
- Enter and locate work-related information using computers.
Safety and Facilities Systems
- Complete life-safety checklists, including fire-pump and generator run tests.
- Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
- Assist in developing disaster response protocols.
- Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, and injuries.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
Supervision and Service
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
- Respond to guest repair requests and address guest service needs.
- Maintain professional communication, confidentiality, and positive working relationships.
- Identify and implement improvements in efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost savings.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and moving through stairs or service ramps.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical, trade, or vocational school degree.
- At least 2 years of related work experience.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
