Role Overview
The Engineering Supervisor supports a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning hotel for guests and colleagues.
The role supervises daily maintenance activities, coordinates assignments, and supports preventive maintenance and operational efficiency.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily engineering and maintenance activities.
- Assign and follow up on maintenance requests and respond to guest and operational issues.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, outlets, and back-of-house areas.
- Coach Engineering colleagues through on-the-job training and clear communication.
- Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and maintain safe, functional equipment and facilities.
- Handle and store tools, equipment, spare parts, and hotel assets properly.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, health and safety requirements, local regulations, and hotel procedures.
- Report hazards, equipment defects, and maintenance concerns and follow up on corrective actions.
- Support energy and water conservation, waste reduction, and sustainability initiatives.
- Maintain maintenance records, communicate outstanding issues, and support emergency response readiness.
Required Qualifications
- Technical diploma, vocational qualification, or relevant training in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, or a related engineering field.
- Two to four years of hotel engineering or similar experience is desirable.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- Good knowledge of hotel maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems, and building services.
- Relevant technical certification or license as required by local or government authorities.
- Good English communication skills with guests, management, colleagues, and contractors.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Ability to collaborate, troubleshoot, and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
