The Engineering Manager will lead engineering and design management for a conventional and freight railway project.
The role covers rail corridors, sidings, yards, depots, terminals, and operational interfaces.
Missions/Main Duties
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering and design delivery and provide technical direction to teams and consultants.
- Coordinate civil, structural, track, rail systems, MEP, architectural, and other design interfaces.
- Oversee design reviews, technical submissions, value engineering, design optimization, and compliance.
- Manage design quality, constructability, risks, technical issues, changes, and interface challenges.
- Coordinate with delivery, commercial, planning, procurement, project controls, clients, contractors, and authorities.
- Lead consultant management, progress tracking, reporting, governance, and technical approvals.
- Support bid-stage engineering planning, methodology, resource planning, and solution development.
- Promote safety in design, quality assurance, innovation, and engineering excellence.
Profile/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Extensive experience in engineering and design management on major railway and freight infrastructure projects.
- Strong multidisciplinary coordination experience across rail, building-related, and operational engineering disciplines.
- Experience with conventional railway standards, freight operations, and heavy-haul or mixed-traffic systems.
- Experience as an Engineering Manager, Design Manager, or similar senior engineering leader is required.
- Understanding of design assurance, technical governance, interface management, authority approvals, HSE, and quality standards.
- Gulf experience and a master’s degree are advantageous.
