Engineering Manager

The Engineering Manager will oversee all engineering departments in the company.

This position will manage the oversight and growth of the mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering groups.

Additionally, this position will require personnel management for meeting technical and schedule goals across all disciplines.

This role will be customer facing, so communication skills and customer interactions are required.

A leadership role in the company, the Engineering Manager will be tasked with understanding hiring needs, projecting schedule and budget, and concisely conveying that information to the leadership team and board.

The general expectations will include, but not be limited to the following:

• Management of the individual engineering groups focused on unmanned maritime systems in the undersea and surface domains
• Hiring plans for growth of the engineering department given current and projected needs
• Understanding of the overall technical goals for individual programs and the ability to make decisions about performance metrics
• Understanding internal R&D programs to assist in technology transition into active and future programs
• Presenting status and projected needs for engineering group to meet company goals to leadership team and board

This position will supervise additional members of the design and engineering department.

This position requires time spent on the shop floor and exposure to shop elements including noise, moving parts, dust and fumes.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
