Role Overview
Manage and lead a specific technical engineering group or department with people accountability.
Take responsibility for complex technical assignments and act independently under broad administrative direction.
Responsibilities
- Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate technical assignments.
- Apply multidisciplinary engineering knowledge to unique or controversial problems.
- Plan engineering tasks, define investigation scopes, and develop novel concepts and approaches.
- Maintain liaison with internal units and external individuals or organizations.
- Manage engineers and technicians and coordinate the activities of the unit.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Typically 12 or more years of experience in requirements management, systems engineering, or project delivery, including several years in leadership.
- Extensive experience on major infrastructure, rail, metro, transportation, or engineering projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- A relevant master's degree is preferred.
- INCOSE CSEP and IREB-equivalent requirements engineering certifications are highly desirable.
- PMP certification is advantageous.
Onboarding Requirement
- Newly hired employees must attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
