Engineering Director responsible for engineering strategy, technical operations, projects, and engineering teams.
The role ensures engineering solutions meet business, quality, safety, cost, and performance requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Develop engineering strategies, standards, and plans and lead projects from planning through completion.
- Manage engineering teams, resources, budgets, and technical priorities.
- Oversee design, development, testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Review designs, specifications, calculations, and technical documents.
- Monitor schedules, costs, quality, and technical performance.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements, and regulations.
- Resolve technical issues and manage risks, changes, approvals, and project requirements.
- Drive innovation, efficiency, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare technical reports, budgets, forecasts, and management updates.
- Lead and develop engineering teams and advise senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Extensive experience in engineering management and senior leadership.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design, project management, and technical operations.
- Experience managing engineering teams, projects, budgets, and resources.
- Knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and regulations.
- Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with engineering software, project management tools, and technical systems.
- Commercial, financial, and risk-management awareness.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Professional engineering certification or chartered status is advantageous.
- UAE/GCC engineering experience is preferred.
