National Highways have an opportunity for an Engineering and Construction Assurance Manager to join our team in the Specialist Bridges Group based in Bristol. Your role will entail leading and developing annual programmes to include cyclical and reactive maintenance activities. You will also be overseeing and controlling the delivery of inspection, maintenance and repair works across the asset, ensuring all activities, whether routine or reactive, meet the required technical, quality and safety standards with a strong focus on customer service.
You will be required to drive as part of your role and you will need to have a full driving licence, with no more than 3 points, to be considered for this position.
Develop and manage high quality cyclical maintenance work plans in line with agreed business goals, outcomes, budget and service level agreements.
Lead effective delivery of the annual maintenance and inspection programme, and provide on site assurance of contractor workmanship and operations.
Manage responses to inspections, reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring that all works are delivered on time and within budget through effective project and financial management. Oversee repair works to ensure they meet the required quality standards.
Liaise with the Contractor, Consultants, National Highways staff and to represent the Company in an advisory or supportive role as directed.
Manage and monitor the performance of staff, the Contractor and their supply chain in respect of health, safety and wellbeing ensuring they fulfil their personal and organisational obligations of both themselves and customers at all times.
Experience of working in an engineering environment and capable of managing a team
Degree or HNC in an Engineering discipline
Previous experience in major structures engineering
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Project Management experience
