About the Role

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment
- Plan and arrange labor, schedules, and equipment for testing and evaluating standard and special devices
- Provide test area with parameters for sample testing and specify tests to be performed
- Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements
- Review System Test Requirements from Contract Specification and Engineering Department
- Gather equipment and system performance specifications and incorporate into structured test philosophy
- Provide Operational Test with Test Instructions and Procedures that demonstrate equipment and system performance
- Identify test documents required (Test Index) and prepare/write Test Procedures (TP)
- Utilize control processes (problem reporting) to ensure quality feedback and maintenance of records
Requirements
- 9 Years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field; 7 years with Master's; 4 years with PhD; OR HS/GED and 13 yrs experience
- Prior experience with Naval Ship Electric Plants and Propulsion systems preferred
- MS Office and CAD software familiarity

Test Engineer Responsibilities
- Reviewing the System Test Requirements provided by Contract Specification and Engineering Department
- Gathering equipment and system performance specifications for each construction contract and incorporating those specifications into a structured test philosophy and approach
- Providing Operational Test with Test Instructions and Procedures that adequately demonstrate the equipment and system performance to the External Customer that complies with the specifications/contract
- Identifying test documents required to be developed (Test Index) and preparing and writing the Test Procedure (TP)
- Utilizing the application of control processes (problem reporting), which are necessary in order to ensure quality feedback and the maintenance of records reflect Test Verification Records (Test Reports) are in compliance with contract specifications, Quality Management and test requirements.
Must Have
- 9 Years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field; 7 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree; 4 years of relevant professional experience with a PhD. OR HS/GED and 13 yrs experience.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with Naval Ship Electric Plants and Propulsion systems preferred. MS Office and CAD software familiarity.
