Job Description
Manage engineering certification projects by determining scope, investigation plans, costs, schedules, and sample requirements.
Communicate with clients, resolve concerns, coordinate project administration, and report project status and results.
Projects may include travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites.
Project Responsibilities
- Serve as Project Handler of record and as Reviewer of record when assigned.
- Prepare Follow-Up Service Procedures and information pages.
- Resolve engineering issues associated with Variation Notices by analyzing and reporting on variation acceptability.
- Assist in developing UL requirements and coordinate or perform file reviews when directed.
- Represent UL at relevant industry seminars and trade shows when required.
Technical Responsibilities
- Evaluate wind-turbine load assumptions according to international standards including IEC 61400-1 and IECRE.
- Perform aero-elastic calculations, structural-dynamics analysis, and work involving vibration and dynamic controls.
- Verify load assumptions using Flex5, BLADED, or Samcef.
- Work closely with the global team and review technical documentation from clients.
