Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the mechanical design of plastic piping system installation tools and equipment
Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for applicable tooling and equipment.
Perform Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
Perform rapid prototyping and be hands-on with product testing.
Understand and utilize DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles to help ensure product designs are optimized for manufacturing capabilities and efficiencies.
Create detailed product drawings using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Create product bills of material and routings.
Create and maintain tools and equipment user instructions.
Oversee the product life cycle management of existing products Oversee the ECO (Engineering Change Order) process for responsible products.
Participate in feasibility studies and costing estimates for new products.
Be the project manager or contributing member of applicable new product development projects.
Provide timely engineering support to Production, Product Management, Sales, Customers as required.
Work closely with Product Management to review the existing product portfolio to identify and implement cost reduction and performance enhancement opportunities.
Work closely with Product Management and Sales to understand customer pains and then provide effective solutions to address.

Light travel (both domestically and internationally) should be expected.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field required.5+ years of tool and/or equipment design.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software to develop product designs.
Prior experience in piping system design and/or field experience with piping systems is desirable.
Hydraulics experience is desirable.
Electromechanical experience is desirable.
Project management experience
Primary work in a climate controlled office environment
Eye/hand coordination for more than 50% of the time
Visual strain for more than 50% of the time
Listening, sitting, bending, standing, stooping, walking, observing, grasping, pushing, pulling, and keyboarding
