About the Role
Panasonic Automotive seeks a Product Security Engineer to integrate security solutions into automotive products. You will perform security assessments, develop security features, and collaborate with global teams.

Responsibilities
- Perform security assessments including vulnerability and risk assessments, threat analysis, and security code reviews
- Design and develop security features for products in collaboration with global software development teams
- Integrate new security features and updates into existing products and maintain security throughout the product lifecycle
- Provide input on product security engineering issues and resolve integration and testing issues
- Detect and mitigate security risks, respond to product security incidents, and work with customers on security issues
- Participate in security architecture and design review meetings and track project status
- Evaluate new software releases from suppliers to ensure acceptance criteria are met
- Keep abreast of new technologies and methods for recommending changes
- Prepare reports, charts, graphs, and other statistical information
Requirements
- Four year College Degree in STEAM and 5+ years embedded software development experience
- 3+ years leading a software engineering team
- Proficient in C/C++ and Object Oriented Design
- Experience with real time embedded environments
- Experience with Micro Controllers or SoC
- Experience with Embedded RTOS (MICROSAR OS/Linux/QNX/Android)
- Experience with Compilers and Debuggers (GHS, IAR, Yacto, GCC/GDB)
- Experience working with Offshore team members
- Understanding of hardware and schematics
- Working knowledge of SDLC and SCM systems

Overview
- Responsible for assuring that security solutions are successfully integrated into the product, on time with high quality to the customer.
- Assists with project direction as related to security.
- Participates in security testing work and is primary resource for ensuring application security testing is thoroughly conducted.
A Day in the Life
- Assists in performing security assessments of company products that may include vulnerability and risk assessments, threat analysis, and security code reviews.
- Works with global software development teams and designs and develops security features for products.
- Assists with integrating new security features and updates into existing products.
- Provides input on product security engineering issues and resolves integration and testing issues.
- Assists in detecting and mitigating security risks, responds to product security incidents.
- Participates in security architecture and design review meetings.
- Evaluates new software releases from suppliers.
- Keeps abreast of new technologies and methods.
- Follows technical domain lead’s design direction.
- Prepares reports, charts, graphs, and other statistical information.
Must Haves
- Four year College Degree in at least one STEAM major and a minimum of five years of experience with full life cycle embedded software development in electronics.
- Minimum three years leading a team of software engineers with a formal development process such as Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, or Extreme Programming.
- Proficient with C/C++/Object Oriented Design (OOD).
- Experience in designing, developing, and debugging software in a real time embedded environment.
- Experience with Micro Controllers or System On Chip (SOC).
- Experience with Embedded RTOS such as MICROSAR OS/Linux/QNX/Android.
- Experience with Compilers and Debuggers like GHS, IAR, Yacto, GCC/GDB based tools.
- Experience working with Offshore team members.
- Good experience in understanding of hardware and schematics.
- Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Configuration Management (SCM) systems.
