Role Overview
Serve as the Engineer under the Contract and the Employer’s senior representative for major infrastructure and construction projects.
Lead contract administration, commercial oversight, project delivery, commissioning, handover, and defects liability activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer FIDIC contractual obligations, certifications, instructions, claims, variations, extensions of time, and payment certification.
- Provide strategic leadership across project delivery, commissioning, handover, and defects liability stages.
- Oversee project controls, schedule performance, risk management, milestones, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Lead commercial and contract management, including claims evaluation and dispute avoidance.
- Champion HSE and QA/QC compliance across project activities.
- Monitor performance and provide recommendations on contractual, commercial, schedule, and risk matters.
- Lead closeout, testing, commissioning, handover, and defects management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, architecture, or a related discipline.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- CEng, PE, PMP, MRICS, MCIOB, or equivalent professional accreditation.
- At least 20 years of experience delivering major infrastructure, engineering, or construction projects.
- Experience as a FIDIC Engineer, Engineer’s Representative, Contract Administrator, Project Director, or similar senior professional.
- Extensive knowledge of FIDIC Red, Yellow, and Silver Book contracts and related administration practices.
- Strong background in project controls, commercial management, construction delivery, and stakeholder management.
- Experience managing contractors, supervision consultants, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Middle East project experience is required.
- Experience through commissioning, handover, and defects liability phases is essential.
- Dispute avoidance and resolution experience under FIDIC contracts is highly desirable.
