Role Overview
GE Vernova is seeking a mechanical designer with 3–5 years of experience to work on power transformer mechanical components.
The role is based at the company’s Large Transformer factory in Vadodara.
The position involves mechanical design, customer-specific drawings, cross-functional collaboration, and occasional customer-site travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components for power transformers, including internal connections, internal layouts, and tank and external designs.
- Create detailed customer-specific drawings according to requirements and specifications.
- Collaborate with electrical engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility, quality, and timely delivery.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable IS, CEA, IEC, IEEE, ISO, regulatory, and industry-specific requirements.
- Review and update design procedures to reflect current standards and best practices.
- Use Inventor and Creo to create accurate 3D mechanical designs and ensure component fit and function.
- Maintain CAD models, drawings, bills of materials, and transformer design documentation in PDM software.
- Provide technical support and help resolve design issues during production or testing.
- Travel to customer sites for requirements gathering, design reviews, installation, commissioning, and technical support when required.
