Role overview
The Engineer role focuses on process design, architecture, governance, automation, and lifecycle management for data center compute services.
The scope includes physical and virtual infrastructure, private cloud, AI/HPC infrastructure, GPU clusters, and container platforms.
Process design and architecture
- Define the target operating model for data center compute services.
- Develop workflows for provisioning, capacity, asset lifecycle, virtual machines, operating systems, patching, hardware refresh, incidents, problems, changes, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Create L1-L4 process maps, SIPOC diagrams, and RACI matrices.
- Establish standards, policies, SOPs, and operational playbooks.
Compute product line management
- Build operational frameworks for physical servers from Dell, HPE, and Lenovo.
- Build frameworks for VMware, Nutanix, Hyper-V, private cloud, AI/HPC, GPU clusters, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Define service catalogs and service consumption models.
