Role overview

Design instrumentation, control, and automation systems for water and wastewater projects serving the UK region.

Support global multidisciplinary engineering teams on water and wastewater projects.

Design and documentation

  • Perform concept, outline, and detail ICA design using international standards.
  • Prepare design bases, P&IDs, system and network architectures, and control philosophies.
  • Prepare PLC general arrangements, wiring and schematic diagrams, I/O lists, loop diagrams, instrument lists, and datasheets.
  • Perform instrument sizing calculations, including flow-meter calculations.

Coordination and review

  • Review vendor drawings for instrumentation, control, and automation systems.
  • Design and review indoor and outdoor equipment, trench, and tray layouts.
  • Provide technical and quality input to technicians on layout deliverables.
  • Coordinate with civil, electrical, mechanical, process, and external design consultants.

Required qualifications

  • B.Tech or M.Tech in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Seven to twelve years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant ICA design experience in a water-sector consultancy organization.
  • Computer literacy with essential working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Very good written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated approach and interest in learning new skills.

Additional experience

  • Direct experience with AutoCAD, AutoDesk Revit, or Plant 3D is a plus.
