Role Overview
AECOM India is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for its Civil Engineering practice.
The role supports medium- to large-scale projects in sectors including buildings, airports, transit, healthcare, research, industrial, and aviation.
The engineer is expected to work independently with high-level direction and guidance from senior staff.
Civil Engineering Work
- Develop site grading and site development layouts.
- Design stormwater drainage, sanitary sewer, underground gravity drainage, chemical sewer, and tankage area layouts.
- Design asphalt and concrete roads, reinforced concrete pavement, and road layouts.
- Design electrical substation-related structures and foundations.
- Apply Indian codes and relevant project requirements to civil engineering designs.
Experience and Education
- Five or more years of experience with projects similar in function, size, and scope.
- Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Hydraulics, or a related field.
- A master's degree is preferred.
- Relevant experience in a consulting engineering firm environment is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of site grading, drainage, sewer, road, pavement, and civil structure design.
- Knowledge of Indian codes is mandatory.
- Working knowledge of SewerGEMS, WaterGEMS, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and HEC-RAS or HEC-HMS.
- Familiarity with US, BS, or Eurocodes is a plus.
- Programming, macros, and Excel design sheets are desirable but not mandatory.
- Interest in Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo, or Python coding is a plus.
Communication and Management Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Client communication and interaction skills are preferred.
- Time management and people management skills are valuable.
Recruitment Onboarding
- Newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location.
