Role Overview
Microchip Technology is hiring an Engineer II for a software team embedded within semiconductor manufacturing.
The team is transforming production data collection, analysis, and operational use across manufacturing sites.
The technology stack includes Python-centric services, AI/ML-powered analytics, and LLM-driven tools.
Core Responsibilities
- Build Python services, APIs, and data pipelines for semiconductor manufacturing data.
- Develop and deploy AI/ML models and LLM-based solutions to automate analysis.
- Design and maintain databases, messaging systems, and web platforms used by the factory.
- Collaborate with test, yield, and process engineers to deliver practical systems.
- Identify automation opportunities using an AI/ML-first mindset.
- Maintain clear technical documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in Python for applications, pipelines, or tooling.
- Strong SQL skills, including stored procedures and complex relational database queries.
