The Design Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and refining product designs to ensure manufacturability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
The role involves ensuring that designs align with production capabilities, quality standards, technical specifications, and client requirements while supporting continuous improvement and successful product delivery.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Create detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications suitable for the process.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective.
- Perform design calculations, simulations, and prototype testing to validate concepts.
- Optimize existing product designs to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and enhance performance.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines.
- Prepare technical documentation, including bills of materials, assembly instructions, and maintenance manuals.
- Participate in design reviews, production trials, and problem-solving initiatives.
- Suggest process improvements and innovative design solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Liaise with clients and project teams to understand requirements and implement design changes as needed.
- Stay updated with manufacturing technologies, design software, and industry best practices.
