Responsibilities
Pre-Fabrication Process Management
Oversee the pre-fabrication of wind turbine blade components, including the accurate cutting and assembly of composite materials such as glass fiber and carbon fiber prepregs.
Implement advanced techniques like automated tape laying (ATL) and automated fiber placement (AFP) to ensure precise material placement and optimal blade structure.
Mold Preparation and Setup
Supervise the preparation and setup of molds for pre-fabrication, including ensuring proper mold release agent application and alignment of mold segments.
Verify mold conditions and specifications to prevent defects during the blade manufacturing process.
Composite Material Handling
Manage the handling and storage of composite materials, ensuring proper environmental controls such as temperature and humidity to maintain material integrity.
Monitor material usage and waste, implementing strategies to minimize excess and reduce costs.
Process Monitoring and Adjustment
Monitor pre-fabrication processes, including resin impregnation and curing, to ensure compliance with production specifications and standards.
Adjust process parameters as needed to address any deviations and maintain high-quality output.
Quality Assurance
Conduct inspections of pre-fabricated components to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards, using techniques such as visual inspections and dimensional checks.
